Check the display first
Record the exact model, weight without its original stand, mounting-hole pattern, and the location of its cable ports. An arm's screen-size range is only one limit. A display must also satisfy the mount's load and mounting requirements. Check the minimum load where one is specified.
Inspect whether the mounting holes sit in a recess. A matching hole pattern does not guarantee that the supplied plate fits into that recess. Use the monitor and mount instructions to establish the correct fasteners and any required adapter.
Check the supporting desk
Measure the thickness at the proposed clamp point, the flat area on top and underneath, and the location of any apron or frame. Check the desk manufacturer's position on attached mounts. Stop if the surface construction or its suitability is unknown. A reinforcement plate is not evidence that an unsuitable desktop becomes suitable.
The arm's movement also matters. Think about the display pulled forward, moved sideways, and rotated. The entire assembly needs support in the positions you will actually use.
Check motion and installation
Read the arm's installation drawing for folded geometry, rear clearance, and tool access. Route cables with enough freedom for the permitted movement without placing tension on ports. Finally, compare the exact variant in the basket with the drawing you used.
Keep a checklist of the seven items: display model, supported load, mounting pattern and recess, desk construction, clamp space, motion envelope, and exact product variant. An unresolved item is a reason to ask the manufacturer before ordering, not a reason to guess.
